School of Nursing
Nursing can be described as both an art and a science, a heart, and a mind. At its heart, lies a fundamental respect for human dignity and an intuition for a patient’s needs. This is supported by the mind, in the form of rigorous core learning” (ANA, 2021).
Nurses practice in a variety of settings and administer nursing care, which promotes, maintains, and restores health to individuals, families, and communities. Nurses care for patients in hospitals, homes, restorative health facilities for the mind, body, and spirit. While going through nursing school, student nurses will begin their nursing practice through clinical activities that will take place in hospitals, community outreach, mental health, and long-term health care facilities. You will be able to engage in inpatient care of the elderly, young, middle, and older adults, acute, emergent, and critical care, children, newborn babies, and pregnant mothers!
